   “As a Physiatrist, I specialize in treating the whole patient's musculoskeletal and nerve-related conditions maximizing function. I utilize a wide variety of nonsurgical techniques including medications, tailored physical therapy prescriptions, ultrasound evaluations, ultrasound guided injections of joints, tendons and peripheral nerves, the newest regenerative medicine techniques including Platelet-Rich Plasma and Prolotherapy injections. If surgery is necessary, I will work with the patient and surgeon to ensure optimal care is delivered before and after surgery. My training has provided me with unique expertise in running related injuries, orthotic and shoe evaluation, and running gait analysis.  I enjoy being part of The Orthopedic Center team to help improve the lives of our community members.”



Physiatry and Rehabilitative Medicine

Nicholas Anastasio, M.D. joins The Orthopedic Center August 1, 2019.  His main concentration of practice has been Physiatry and Rehabilitative Medicine, Ultasound Evaluations, Ultrasound Guided Injections, Nerve Conductive Studies, and Electromyography.

Dr. Anastasio attended Brown University and graduated from University of Maryland School of Medicine where he completed his internship.  He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia.

Dr. Anastasio's professional memberships include American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and American Medical Association.

Dr. Anastasio is board certified.

Dr. Anastasio has a special interest in early detection and treatment of stress fractures, nerve entrapment syndromes, regenerative medicine (PRP, prolotherapy), sports hernia/core muscle injury, running injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, and radiculopathy.

Dr. Anastasio lives in Centreville, Maryland with his wife and two children.
